Book 1 of The Hardin Boys
Harlequin Super Romance
He’s not the only one with something to hide…
Chance Hardin has spent many good years as a ranch manager on the Southern Cross. But now it’s time to move on. His brothers want him to join them in the oil business-equal partners. But spending every day with them, Chance would never be able to keep his secret. So to protect their father’s memory, he’ll deny his Texas ambitions. Until Shay Dumont literally crashes into his life.
Who is the beautiful stranger? For the first time, Chance is very interested in the truth. Telling his brothers about the past could destroy their relationship, but it could also bring him everything hes ever wanted. Including Shay, who is hiding a secret he doesn’t suspect. The truth will challenge everything he knows-about his family, Shay and himself.

Keeping secrets is always difficult but when they will hurt the ones you love it is hard to know what to do. Queen of Texas romance, Linda Warren, weaves an tantalizing tale of secrets and finding love in THE TEXAN’S SECRET, the beginning of a new series staring the Hardin brothers. Curl up with this delightful romance but be warned the action in the oil field will have you flipping pages and holding your breath as will as the fallout from long kept secrets.
-Donna from CataRomance
I have to admit, this isn’t my first Linda Warren book. I’ve happily nabbed her other books when shopping. I know the writing will be tight, the characters engaging and I won’t be able to put the book down. The Texan’s Secret is no exception.
The moment I sat down to read this book, I literally couldn’t put it down. I had to know what would happen next. The characters jump right off the page. I love the twists and turns. Nothing happened quite how I’d expected.
Now, some might consider an oil man plot a little tired. Yes, it’s used a lot, but Linda Warren manages to add little touches that makes the story fresh.
-Long and Short Reviews
The Texan’s Secret is a keeper for me and one that I read in one day. I so enjoyed the humor and some of the attitude of all characters and I know you will too. I am looking forward to the next in the Hardin Boys series, The Texan’s Bride which will be in October
-A Romance Review
Chance Hardin quits his ranch job to join his two brothers at an oil company, but before he leaves he meets Shay Dumont, who breaks into the Calhoun family safe to get her mother’s wedding rings. Blanche Dumont was once married to Jack Calhoun, whose son now owns the ranch. Chance decides to help Shay find out who her real father was. This well-written story portrays emotions quite realistically. Chance’s indecision over whether or not to tell his brothers a secret about their parents rings true, as do Shay’s ambiguous feelings about her emotionally cruel mother.
